Yellowstone, NP

Monday Sept 24th- Thurs Sept 27th

After a wonderful stop over in Bozeman, MT with Melissa and Paul we headed to Yellowstone NP. Karen had never been here before so she was really excited. When we got to the park we were greeted by a handful of Elk. Karen's first time seeing an elk. It is mating season for the Elk so they were everywhere in the north part of the park. Here are a few highlights of our 4 day adventure through the park...

The boiling river- we soaked for at least an hour until...

Karen made a new friend. Do you like their green hats? Karen was sure he was a brain injury survivor.

Sunset at LeHardy's Rapids near Hayden Valley. I was in heaven with all the colors!

Shooting the shooter

Our first baby black bear viewing. He didn't stick around long so I couldn't get a great shot.

The marker for the boiling river where we went to take a hour long soak in natural hotsprings. A first for Karen. This also is a mark for halfway between the equator and the north pole. (Do you like our matching cowgirl hats?)

The bison under the moonlight!

The grand canyon of the Yellowstone River.

A bull Elk and his harem. We love the white butts. They greeted us in our campsite.

All was well and good until I ACCIDENTALLY knocked Karen's clip on sunglasses over the ledge four feet down in the canyon. She retrieved them. Thank goodness because she has since stepped on and snapped her other pair in 2!
