Polebridge,MT

Well this should be fun.. it has been awhile since we have been in Polebridge but here goes. We drove the 26 mile dirt/gravel road from the west entrance of the park to this little town that is run on propane or a generator. They only had outhouses no sewage system. It was another adventure for us. We decided to stay at a very cure hostel called The NorthFork Hostel. We stayed in a tiny cabin with a wood burning stove and kerosene lantern. All for $35.00! After checking in we went for a run around Bowman lake with our bear bells because Black Bears and Grizzlys frequent the area. The next day we found out that a black bear was on the trail about 20mins before we were. Thank goodness we didn't know that before our run. We than went back to the hostel for a nice hot shower!!!! Than into the very small town to have dinner at the Northern Lights Saloon. Remember, generators only! Karen had her first Elk Burger.

The next day we went back to the town to the Polebrige Mercantile for breakfast and coffee. We sat in the general store for some time working on the pictures. Oh.. and they had wi-fi! Go figure! no power, cell service or a sewage system but they had wi-fi. After hanging there for a bit we hit the road to Bozman, MT. It snowed and rained almost the whole way there.

Bowman Lake.. where we did a trail run. Where we just missed the black bear on the trail.

The town store and bakery. No power or sewage but they had Wi-FI! I didn't belive it at first.

The inside of the Mercantile. The inside of our cabin/hostel! It rained that night so it was a good call to sleep indoors!
The Northern Lights Saloon! The best food near the park. I had my first pint of Moose Drool!
